About KVMChecker
How KVMChecker works.
KVMChecker turns manufacturer specifications into configuration-level assessments. It is a research aid, not a substitute for testing the exact computers, displays, adapters and cables on your desk.

Methodology
Products and common Apple host computers are recorded in separate structured sources. The checker first asks what the computer can drive, then checks the KVM, the monitor requirement and anything that remains dependent on adapters, cables or an unverified signal path. This prevents a Mac display-count limit from being mislabelled as a KVM fault.
Manufacturer sources
Product facts and product links come from current manufacturer pages, datasheets and manuals. Apple host-display limits come from Apple technical specifications and support documents. Each important claim is recorded as manufacturer-confirmed, derived from published specifications, or needing verification. Conflicting claims are recorded and the checker uses the conservative interpretation. Marketing labels such as “8K” are not treated as proof of every lower or ultrawide timing.
Compatibility limitations
“Compatible” means the published specifications support the selected requirements. “Compatible with limitations” identifies a workable but constrained arrangement. “Needs verification” means the documents do not prove the exact mode. “Not compatible” identifies a direct conflict such as insufficient refresh, charging or monitor count. KVMChecker has not physically tested these products.
Independent recommendations
Products are included because they fill a documented compatibility need, such as a connection type, monitor count, charging level, USB requirement or two-versus-four-computer topology. Inclusion does not depend on an affiliate relationship. Compatibility, unresolved limitations, evidence strength, required features, display headroom and signal-chain simplicity determine ranking. Manufacturers do not set verdicts, and KVMChecker is not the seller.
Affiliate disclosure
KVMChecker may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through product links. This does not affect our compatibility assessments.
Some product buttons use approved affiliate links and others go directly to the manufacturer. Commercial links remain separate from the manufacturer evidence used for compatibility assessments, and affiliate status does not affect verdicts or ranking.
Before purchasing
Check the exact computer model, graphics hardware, monitor firmware, target resolution and refresh rate, colour depth, cable rating and adapter specification. For high-bandwidth or Mac multi-display setups, confirm the exact arrangement with the manufacturer and buy through a route with an appropriate return policy.
Read KVM terms explained for the plain-English meaning of the specifications used across the site.
Check a setup
Use the compatibility checker for a first pass, then read the closest configuration guide for topology-specific constraints.
